10th Annul Buddy Sirisky Memorial Alzheimer’s
Charity Golf Tournament Announces Plans for 2018 Event
“Brandishing the flame of hope, that we may forever drive away the darkness” - so states the positioning slogan accompanying the logo for the Annual Buddy Sirisky Charity Golf Tournament.
This year’s tournament will be held Saturday, September 22nd. We will be returning to Kiawah Resort’s Oak Point Course rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest Magazine’s biennual “Best Places to Play” poll. The courses close proximity to the Kiawah River and the Haulover Creek, with its surrounding maritime forest, makes this a spectacular landscape and first-class layout for golfers who want the challenge of play as well as a dramatic setting. Undulating fairways and challenging greens have dubbed Oak Point a “shotmaker’s course”. Golfers participating in this year’s tournament will pay $100 per player and will receive a $50 per Player Coupon for a return round at Oak Point, good for up to a foursome. Some new Sponsorship Packages have been added and former ones have been restructured to improve the magnitude of contributions to the Elks’ Alzheimer’s Charity. Refreshments will be provided on the course during play and a reception will be held at the course following the tournament and will include Door Prizes, a Cheer Basket and 50/50 Drawing and a whole lot of fun (a $10 donation will be collected for non-golfers).
Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the US. An estimated 80,000 South Carolinians are currently living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia and as many as 16 million Americans could be affected by 2050, unless there is a breakthrough in research. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Elks Lodge 242 is proud to be associated with this most worth while cause and is dedicated to bringing its stature to bear in fighting this disease as part of the Largest Fraternal Organization in the US. We invite everyone to participate in supporting this noble cause with their time, talent and resources.
The Charleston Lodge 242’s Alzheimer’s Committee is very excited about this year’s plans for the annual tourney. Elk’s member Derek Cianciolo as Tournament Chairman has been ambitiously putting every effort into making this upcoming event better then last year. A logo-identity has been custom designed to serve as a distinctive hallmark for the tournament, as well as an inspiring slogan to rally emotions to this noble cause.
